“GUIDELINES”

INTRODUCTION
In conjunction with Electrical Safety New Zealand Incorporated, Marsh Limited has developed insurance policies tailored to suit the members of the Association. Our aim has been to produce a policy that will provide protection for claims arising out of the performance of your professional duties as Electrical Inspectors. Coverage is provided for legal liabilities arising out of breach of your professional duty (Professional Indemnity Insurance) and also legal liabilities arising out of Personal Injury or Property Damage caused, for which you are responsible (Public Liability Insurance), subject to the policy terms and conditions.

Premiums will be rated by the insurer upon receipt of the member’s proposal forms.  The following will help you to assess the scope of cover

WHAT DOCUMENTATION WILL I RECEIVE?
You will receive a Policy Schedule specifying your individual details (name, policy limit etc) and a copy of the Policy Wording for your records.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE COVERED BY THIS INSURANCE?
Your policy will AUTOMATICALLY cover you in respect of Legal Liabilities incurred whilst performing work within your capacity as a Registered Electrical Inspector as described under the provisions of the Electricity Act (1992) and it’s amendments.

If you are involved in activities outside the above you can still be covered but the Underwriters will require your proposal to be referred to them by us for individual assessment.

WHAT EXTENSIONS WILL MY POLICY AUTOMATICALLY HAVE?

  • Defamation
  • Loss of Documents (Property Damage Only)

  • Continuous Cover
  • Fair Trading Act 1986
